I want you to be you

When deciding on what you want to wear for a photo session, the most important thing is to wear what you will feel the most comfortable in! When you look back on the photos you receive, you’ll want to see you and your partner or family looking like your most authentic selves. Whether that means wearing a t-shirt and tennis shoes or wearing a suit and tie, it’s whatever makes you feel special and like YOU. Remember that these are just suggestions, not rules!

When in doubt, go with neutrals

I always suggest wearing neutral or cool colors… white, grey, black, brown, navy, light blue, light green, dark green, beige, blush, etc. While I love bright colors and bold patterns, they bring the attention away from your face (the most important part of the photos) and draw the eye to what you’re wearing instead.

Have fun!

Feel free to play with accessories! Hats, scarves, shawls, cozy jackets, you name it! All of these things add to the photos and are a great way to show off your personality.

Wardrobe change

For my engagement/couples sessions, you are welcome to bring two outfits. We will be bopping around to multiple locations, which allows you to mix things up! Maybe wear a casual outfit for more active and playful photos and then a nicer outfit that you might wear out on date night! They are YOUR photos and I want to capture what you two look like as a couple.

Mixing Patterns + Solids

For couples, if one of you is wearing a pattern, the other person should wear a solid.

Pattern + Solid = Yay!
